9/11 and then some

So today is the 10 year anniversary of a very tragic day in America's history. While I didn't participate in any kind of remembrance event I did get teary-eyed a few times today. The first was when I read a story on Yahoo! about a young man that was a boy that 2 years after the 9/11 tragedy he read a poem at a remembrance ceremony and then today he spoke at the 10 year anniversary about his dad who died in one of the trade towers. The second time I got emotional was when I for the first time explained what happened on that day to my 6 year old son (he was wondering why they were doing certain things at the beginning of the Cowboys vs Jets game)...it was very hard to explain what happened without scaring him, without crying like a blubbering baby, and trying to stay positive. So besides the patriotic...we all got to sleep in today!!! And then we again had a brunch and then we all kinda snacked for lunch...and yes I know that totally rhymes!!! Beto watched the Bears game (they won by the way) and I was able to seriously thin down my emails. The kids got to watch some "kids shows", play in their room, color, play with their puzzles, and play with their kickball with Beto outside. Then for dinner we had some yummy fried chicken and sides from County Market and Walmart. Two perks of today is that after I crawled upstairs (2 times) I was able to situate myself to give the boys baths!!! The downfall is that my knees hate me for crawling up the stairs. I am also able to get in and out of the house by myself now!!! After having a short conference call with my sisters and having Roberto do his meds for tonight the boys are now both in bed. I am currently sitting in the living room with my hubby (whose cuteness totally equals his awesomeness) blogging and watching the Cowboys vs Jets game. As a closing thought I would like to state: Kick Some Ass Cowboys!!!
